Back in Business

I'm officially starting my fifth semester of college this fall.  If that doesn't sound weird, then I don't know what does.  I've been back at Maple for about a week now for RA training--which I am finding to be only slightly painful.  This also means that it is my fifth semester of living at Maple Hall  and after all this time I finally feel that my room is really suitable to myself.  I feel like it is filled 100% with the things that I love and thoroughly expresses who I am--which is the best way to decorate and live (according to Nate Berkus, anyway)!  It is full of treasures that I have collected throughout my travels, trinkets and furniture from antique stores, Funky Monkey finds, and whatnots from my childhood--with a little Ikea, Target, and Anthropologie thrown into the mix, of course!

The pictures on the wall are actually calendar pages of old, vintage airlines from Anthropologie that I fell in love with and matted.

This is one of my favorite shelves.  I've had good ole' planty since 9th grade when my dad gave it to me out of hopes that it could potentially bring me good fortune throughout my gawky transition into high school.  The buddhas and smaller globe are from China and Hong Kong.  The globe bookend is my grandpa's from Italy, the cat on the bottom right is my grandma's from 1956 (at least that is what the sticker on the bottom declares), and the large shell that is fading into the wall was found on a beach in Costa Rica.

My bulletin board is filled with tickets and tokens from my travels, the lamp is one I stumbled upon at home and refurbished, there's the match to my other globe bookend, the tin is full of my de la Vida treasures, the rock was found at Snowbird in Utah, the wooden box on the second shelf is from Guatemala, and the frames and mirror are from the one and only Funky Monkey.

These are more of my favorites.  The tall jar is full of stamps that I collected as a strange, young child, the blue-tinted jar is full of foreign money I have collected, and the last jar is clearly full of buttons.

There's only so much one can do with a dorm room but I feel pretty satisfied with my living quarters this year.
This post kind of sucks, but that could be due to two circumstances.  1.)  I am slightly distracted by the television.  2.)  I worked out and ran today for the first time in an cringeworthy amount of time and am really sore all over already.  It even hurts my fingers to type.  Okay, that's a lie, but  I'll blame my lack of creativity/humor on both of those circumstances.
