Jellystone

Once upon a time, my family and I took a little trip to the mystical land of Yellowstone National Park. I dreaded this vacation more than any other.  Now, looking back, I can’t believe we waited so long to venture out there!
We stayed in what we called “Our Shed."  I slept next to the rake and lawn mower.
But really, it was quite nice.  I can’t complain too much about it.  Never once were we uncomfortable, and I do recall sleeping quite well.  We awoke each morning with the sunrise to catch a glimpse of wildlife and as hard as it was to drag ourselves out of bed at dawn, it was so incredibly worth it.
Check this bridge of clouds/fog…
We spotted a coyote here and there.
I feel like we get extremely lucky on our vacations when it comes to seeing exciting wildlife, and lots of it!
This guy was walking right next to our car.  I could have reached out the window and pet him if I really felt the need.
Let’s just say it didn’t have to be morning to see “katonka”…
Yes, my family and I did cause this mess.  We told some tourists that there was a massive bull elk behind a tree up the hill (which we of course made up…), who told some other tourists, and then they told some Asians, and well, you can see where this is going.  We had some laughs and got out of there as quickly as possible.  Oh, the excitement… all for a bull elk.
Of course you can’t retreat home without seeing the infamous Old Faithful or hot springs.
Sure, they were cool, but definitely far from the highlight of my trip…
